Keine Angst vor Veränderung!

English below.

No fear of change!

Courage to change. Making decisions that are different from the past. With these words ModEurop President Karim Choukair opened the very well attended ModEurop Colour Club Conference, which took place on 13 and 14 October in Frankfurt am Main. The biannual Fashion Summit, which focuses on the creation of the ModEurop Colour Card for the season after next, is an essential date in the calendar for all creatives in the footwear, fashion and accessories industry. "We need helpers and this valuable creative input to make the right decisions for the creation of our collections," Karim Choukair thanked ModEurop Creative Directors Martin and Uta Riechers-Wuttke, who continue to provide the industry with numerous exciting and useful inspirations beyond the Colour Club Conference. As always, the highlight of the ModEurop meetings is the opportunity to think outside the box. Thus, the exciting supporting programme with a visit to the exhibition "Green Sky, Blue Grass" in the World Culture Museum as well as the lectures by the multi-award-winning artist Valentina Knezevic and the renowned sneaker designer Sebastian Thies provided further creative impulses.

For spring/summer 2023, the ModEurop trend experts predict a season between nature-loving design, swinging optimism and season-independent luxury. "It's about redefining the balance between loud and quiet. It's about longing, departure and rebellion - complemented by sexiness and a portion of swinging sixties in modern implementation," Martin Wuttke describes the mood. Political, sustainable and virtual influences are increasingly determining consumer behaviour. Leading brand experts predict that brands that walk the path together with their customers as a community will be among the long-term winners. Furthermore, in addition to the enthusiasm for digitalisation, one thing should not be ignored: Empathy is not available in the App Store!

Colours and materials in S/S 2023: Between nature and neo-glam

b class="">NEWTILITY - RE-ROOTED theme, nature serves as a design template - with a lust for decoration. Summery freshness and lightness are combined with a rich earthiness. Moving surfaces and handcrafted details such as fringes, ruffles etc. dominate the materials. METAVERSITY - JOY LAB is characterised by uniqueness and individuality. Digital gaming outfits meet neo-glam and swinging sixties. The colour lab exudes pure joie de vivre: cyber tones are grounded with natural colours. The materials range from smooth to shiny or with modern embossing. The theme of LUCIDITY - SOFT CORE is all about intelligent designs with a dash of sex appeal. Classic silhouettes are interpreted in a modern way. The focus is on sustainable luxury and mindfulness.

The colours also create a connection between quiet and loud, present and future: a colour range for unagitated modernity with room for exciting innovations. The elegance of the finest leathers reflects the "quiet luxury" aspect of this theme.

The ModEurop Colour Card for Spring/Summer 2023 will be available from the German Shoe Institute in Offenbach from the beginning of December.
